Things are going well in my new life.  Family, career, all of the usual things.  It makes one step back and wonder what it is really about.  Enjoy the moment because the memories will be fleeting.  You know how you enjoy to look forward to something?  Well, I take each day as an opportunity to make a new memory, one I will want to relive.  My daughter allows or forces me to slow down and look at the simplicity of life.  She is about to have a sister.  Isn't this what really matters?  I think it is.  Make them proud so they will continue to be your best memories because when they leave they will be the memories you wish to relive.   I don't feel that everyone understands this or me.

It was a rainy night when Danny decided to make one of the hardest decisions of his life.  He only had to wait for her to get home from work.  Then he would do it.  For four hours he stood in the kitchen staring out the window into a wet abyss.  Lights off in the house, the only illumination was the frequent strobes of lightening that entered the large bay window.  Danny waited.  Finally, he realized that she must be onto what he was planning.  "She's not coming home"  he thought. He took what he had been holding and put it in the vault, locked it, and headed for the door with keys in hand.  "She has to be at her mother's."

This is the first submission, so I hope it sparks interest in others to actually see what I might have to say.  The idea of others reading something I have to say is enabling yet frightening.  Judge in fear of being judged.  The journey has begun.
